etsy

Do you ever have something on your to-do list
for way too long?  I am embarrassed to
admit how many items are on my list.
Well, today there is one less!
I have wanted to create an etsy.com site for quite some time,
but never did it.
(I was intimidated by all the photography, if I'm honest).

I have finally conquered my fears and opened my new
etsy site!
You can find me at www.etsy.com/shop/theLetterSmith.
I have mostly cards right now,
and mostly individually hand lettered!

So, take a minute and check out my new virtual store front
and be sure to let me know what you think.
And, if there is anything you would like to see in my shop,
let me know that too.  I'm always open to suggestions!

Happy shopping :)

invitation envelopes

Last week I got a call from www.blue541.com
to letter some envelopes for a
family reunion invitation.

The event will be held at the
Coeur d'Alene resort and the client wanted
"resort casual" lettering.
This casual style fit the bill.
The envelopes were a delightful creamy color,
and the ink was dark black sumi.
It was a very fun little project!

sunday doodles

I just love adding to this handmade journal
on Sunday mornings!
I used Arches Text Wove and it's a dream to work with.
Both for bookbinding and for the artwork.

For this one I thought it needed a little something more than
the text, so I drew a fountain.
It has no real relevance, but I like how it looks.

sunday doodles

I brought my waterbrush to church with
me and had some fun at the bottom
of the page.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

sunday doodles

Sometimes I get a little obsessed
with an image.
Can you guess what my current obsession is?

It's feathers.
And I had so much fun adding this one to my
church sketchbook!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving
full of food, family and friends
(and thankful-ness, of course).

sunday doodles

When I made this journal
at Calligraphy Northwest last June,
we started with some blank sheets
of Arches text wove and added some gestural marks
to give some texture to otherwise blank pages.
This page had some nice dark spaces
to play off of.
