Holiday card I will personalize.
More details to come on that project.

say hello to my new niece

This is my new niece,
Reece Mary Reddick.
She was born to my sister and her husband.
I had the privilege to work on Reece's
birth announcement.
Now I just have to wait another month or so
before I get to meet her.
Isn't she adorable???

Sunday Doodles

This is a little floral looking doodle
along with a bit of wisdom I took away from the book of Esther.
It reads, "the hard right is always
better than the easy wrong."

Sunday Doodles

I have been a little obsessed with cartouches lately.
This was a fun one to work on.

Christmastime is near!

I have been spending some time
making some Christmas ornaments lately.
They are paper ball ornaments
that I did some ornamental penmanship
flourishes on before I cut them out.

They are available for purchase at
 the Pottery Place Plus
in Spokane, Washington.

Have a great weekend :)

Sunday Doodles

This is a little hard to see.
I did this doodle with pencil during a sermon
about rebirth.

pumpkin

This is the pumpin I carved for Halloween this year.
It didn't show up much when lit at night,
but I am happy with it anyway.
I used some small woodcarving chisels we had in my husband's shop
and a Speedball carving tool I use for rubber stamps.

p.s. sorry about the sketchy photo :)

Sunday Doodles

I like to doodle at church on Sundays.
It helps me concentrate on the sermon.
We are taking a look at Esther right now :)
This is a little practice for our family Christmas Card design.

this is a journal page I completed
while watching my son's soccer
practice last week.
I used Pigma Micron pens
and some watercolor.

painted rocks

These are some rocks I have been painting lately.
I used an old nib and
Dr. Martin's Bombay White
I made these into magnets
and they are available at the Pottery Place Plus
in Spokane.

legacy

My husband works for YoungLife in Spokane
and we had our annual fundraising banquet last week.
At the banquet we recognised
George and Shirley Creighton for their
continuous support of YL in Spokane.
They have been supporting us for over 40 years.
This was their thank you gift.
I used Dr. Martin's Bleedproof white
vintage Hunt 22
on smooth brown paper.

The first post (sigh)

Welcome to my new calligraphy blog.
I will share current projects and other art related projects here.
Maybe even a little about my life as a wife and mother
(as time permits and if interesting things are going on around here).

I thought I would start by showing one of my favorite new pieces.
I did the lettering with sumi ink and the colored background with pastel chalks.
I love the quote and wanted it to do the talking on this one,
so the layout is fairly basic.
